The DOME

Can somebody please tell my husband he is NOT Bear Grylls?!? Last week he thought it would be a good idea to hike Half Dome - an 18 mile hike - right after going to Santa Cruz, Mexico, waking up at 5:00 a.m. for surgeries all week, etc. So they get up at 5:30 Monday morning and hike until 7:30 p.m. (and don't think he packed a lunch...oh I had a couple of granola bars...nice!) Then he drives home 4 hours, gets home at 1:00 a.m. and has to get up and be to a surgery by 8:00 a.m. then next morning! Freak! Then instead of taking it easy, he goes to the gym every night and decides to do a 50 - sorry 55 - mile bike ride at 5:00 a.m. yesterday! Sheesh! And guess who gets to rub his legs every night? ME! Oh well, I'm glad he had fun! But on a side note - I did the stairmaster for 5 minutes yesterday and seriously my legs are killing me!

Ahhhh cute....

Puerto Vallarta

Thanks to my rad husband we finally got to go on our vacation we've been saving up for all year. He totally got them to reschedule our trip after we thought we lost all our $$$. So we cruized down to mexico for 6 days and laid out, slept in, ate waaayyy too much food and even took some mid-day naps. And let me tell you ... we needed it.

Our resort, los Dreams, was super awesome. It definitely had the best beach of any beaches we saw and there was some freakin wild life around...sting rays just swimming next to us in the ocean, iguanas cruising under our table at dinner, and of course the neighborhood cat hanging out. I would definitely recommend the all-inclusive (especially if you want to get fat!). Luckily I was pregnant so we had an excuse not to drink because there was some serious pressure! But virgin pina coladas in the pool are still awesome.

Best part of the trip - deep sea fishing and seeing like 50 dolphins up close. I've never seen wild dolphins, even living in Hawaii for 3 years. Awesome!

2nd best part of the trip - Local surfing adventure. Of course Jeff had to surf in Mexico so we asked everyone and apparently Mexicans don't really surf a lot. But we finally found out about a little surf town in another state and decided to take an hour and a half taxi ride over there. Luckily Jeff was jamming out his Espanol. All the cab drivers loved him so we could actually get around. The surf town was pretty cool, but the waves were small kine. Perfect for me (being prego on vacation, not so awesome), but way too small for wulicious. Whatever though... Santa Cruz in a wet suit on Saturday, Mexico in bath water on Tuesday, that should quench his surf thirst for now. The bus ride home was pretty exciting too ... a taste of the local-ness. I've definitely never been so swassy in my life. And I still have 300 pesos in my wallet that I really want to send to the guy selling peanuts on the bus. He needs it...sad.

DON'T ACT LIKE YOU'RE NOT IMPRESSED!!!!!

Seriously, how hot is Bear Grylls? If you're in love with him too raise your hand! I am totally over TV lately (especially since my remote doesn't work - not worth it!), but I know I can always count on the Discovery Channel for some quality shows...Man vs. Wild being my favorite of course. I mean look at this guy -

I am IM-PRESSED!!!

Lake-a-da-Pines

So like a hundred years ago in blogging time we went camping for Memorial day weekend and I'm finally posting about it. Here's the pics of our good times in the woods.

Some of the highlights of the trip were:

-The campground was named "Stumpy Meadows". Very appealing...
-Our brand new tent we bought that day was broken ... thanks for the refund REI!
-A surprise talent show by Katie .... who knew?
-No air mattress for the pregnant chick ... ouch!
-We saw three snakes in the lake ... I just like seeing snakes
-Tin foil dinners ... need I say more ... amazing!

3 pregos in a row....

Brooke thought this would be a good idea....
